Infant Massage, Acupressure, & Baby Sign Language

Infant massage is a wonderful way to connect with your baby through hands-on touch and communication. It supports bonding, attachment, and interaction and, practiced regularly, it has been shown to improve the quality of infant sleep, decrease signs of stress, and can relieve digestive discomfort and other body discomfort and tension. Best yet, it’s easy to learn and can be a meaningful part of their day and yours.In this introductory workshop, you will be introduced to a variety of infant massage and reflexology techniques and have space for group discussion with other caregivers. In our time together we focus on:

• Massage strokes* & touch relaxation, including pressure, rhythm, and length of massage based on infant cues
• Bonding techniques & ways to recognize infant cues
• Massage techniques to relieve gas and constipation
• Songs to sing and American Sign Language to sign with your baby
• Time for supportive group discussion

*Parents/ Caregivers provide the massage – the teacher always demonstrates with a doll. Due to the length of the workshop, techniques for a full body massage will not be demonstrated, though you’ll receive videos of all massage techniques demonstrated after class.
