A space for comfort and productivity
Our beautiful, cozy center has a tucked away tree house retreat feel, yet is centrally located a block off of State Street in the Uptown/ La Cumbre Area of Santa Barbara. For warm Summer and Fall days we have two air conditioners + fans and for cooler winter days we have two heaters.
A space with your health and safety in mind
There are several portable HEPA air filters onsite and we invest in routine cleaning and housekeeping to keep the space looking fresh and sparkling clean for the parents we serve and their babies.To keep the floors clean for the babies and parents routinely sitting on them, we are a shoeless environment once beyond the entryway and waiting room. We request that all clients, including those of renters, wear non-slip socks onsite. We will have some available for purchase if needed;if a client has a health care need to keep their shoes on, we make allowances.

All routine monthly renters are invited to our quarterly professional events (onsite or in a park) and our monthly professional support group, facilitated by Dr. Victoria Gonzalez, PhD.
Center Information
Then Comes Baby New Family Resource is an ADA-compliant center in the heart of “Uptown”/ La Cumbre Neighborhood in Santa Barbara. Our ground floor center is wheelchair accessible and stroller friendly.
Located a half mile from the La Cumbre Rd. exit off of Highway 101 and less than a mile from Highway 154 or Foothill Rd/ Highway 192, we are close to all the amenities that the Uptown/ Upper State Street/ La Cumbre has to offer. Centrally located, we are easily accessible from Goleta and surrounding communities. You and your clients may appreciate easy access to many restaurants, coffee shops, grocery shopping, or easy access to other nearby Santa Barbara neighborhoods.
There is abundant onsite parking for clients and shared (though limited) parking for renters or staff. In the event a spot isn’t available, there is easily accessible neighborhood parking available in the La Cumbre Rd./ Via Lucero area.
All renters have access to our kitchenette area to use the basic dishes (cups, plates, bowls, and silverware), microwave, toaster, coffee maker, tea pot, mini-fridge, and the supplies to wash their dishes.
We have many functional rooms in our center available to rent, all with large windows and natural light. Each window has blinds and/ or drapes for privacy. Backjack floor seating is available for those who need it. High speed Wi-Fi serves the whole building.
Two rooms available for large group meetings
- Classroom/ Multipurpose room with A/V, a 55 inch flat screen TV, seating for 16+, commercial grade floors for exercise/ movement classes, and 4 folding tables. A section of overhead lights are on dimmers for those seeking low lighting.
- Group Room/ Large Treatment Room/ “The Family Room” with 50 inch flat screen TV, A/V set up, tea pot, mugs, sink and seating for 10. Up to two massage or chiropractor tables can be added. This room has a partial mountain view.
Three rooms available for appointments/co-working
- Bodywork / Treatment Room
- Consultation room with small desk, a recliner, and seating for 3-4
- Larger Office Space/ “The Cozy Den” with sink, desk, and seating for 5-6. This room has a partial mountain view and partial horse stable view.
All renters will be required to add Then Comes Baby, LLC, as well as our landlord and property manager, on their business general liability insurance as “Additionally Insured” and email a copy of this proof. Coverage limits need to be the standard $1 million/ per incident, $2,000,000 aggregate. This is a requirement of ALL rental agreements. Adding “additionally insured” should be either free or very low cost (depending on your insurance), and it should be a one-time administrative task, so long as you maintain that insurance. If you do not currently have liability insurance, feel free to ask Then Comes Baby for referrals to trustworthy and reasonably priced insurance agents.
Classroom/Multi-Purpose Room
Our lovely classroom is well-prepared to host movement classes (8-14 students depending on the class), small groups up to 16 (U-Shape) to 20 (full circle) or larger groups up to 28-30* (row seating). One wall has floor to ceiling windows for sunlight to flood in, along with blinds and drapes for privacy and to reduce light. There are two sections on overhead lights on different switches, with one set of lights on a dimmer switch. We have a heater and brand new air conditioner system that services the space, both with a routinely checked filtration systems; additionally,two portable HEPA air filters are available for use serving the approximately 450 sq. ft. space.
We have 18 chairs onsite, 4 24-inch round tables, 3 30-inch round tables, and 3 portable foldable tables. Renters who need more can rent or otherwise bring in additional chairs or tables.
Office Space for Appointments or Co-Working
*The Office Pass Membership includes pre-paid hours for space rental by the hour with a 1-hour minimum. This prepaid Office Pass expires 2 months from purchase. If all hours are used before 2 months, hourly a la carte hours until the end of the 2 month period. The Office Pass Membership will renew every two months, with one month written notice required to cancel membership prior to the renewal period. Prebooking space is encouraged to secure time when you need it.
Group Room (a.k.a. The Family Room)
This space is perfect for small groups and classes up to 10-12 adult participants. Infants can be held in arms or in their car seats (no strollers inside). Well lit with floor to ceiling windows directly revealing a treeline and mountain view, all the details were considered to make this space a safe haven for more sensitive discussions, nursing folks, or any person looking for a relaxed and supportive space. There is a diaper changing station, a sink for handwashing, and a small water/ tea station.Renters can use the onsite kitchenette to brew coffee or use the microwave or mini-fridge.
This room includes a sectional couch that comfortably seat 5-6 people, 2 chairs in standard set up, and 4 foldable chairs. Chairs from the classroom can be added if desired and available. If needed, foldable tables are available.
Group Room Rates:
- Hourly Rate: $30/hour (2 hour minimum)
- Prepaid 12 hours (common for group series): $300 ($25/ hour)
- Weekday afternoons 1pm – 5pm: $20/hour, 1.5 hour minimum
- Full Day (9 hours 8:00am – 5:00pm): $150
- Entire Weekend: $275
