Stephanie Drake, PhD has been a part of the support, education, and non-profit sectors in Santa Barbara County for more than 20 years. Her passion for positive family outcomes grew out of early teaching experiences with under-resourced children in the Bay Area and Southern California. Through her later work with a number of large non-profits in Santa Barbara County, Stephanie was able to secure millions of dollars in funding for gang violence prevention and community support services both locally and internationally.
Stephanie holds a PhD and Master's in Education from UCSB and for the last three years has dedicated herself to educating and empowering families as they navigate their way through pregnancy, postpartum, and beyond. Stephanie’s interest in Developmentally Appropriate Practice and responsive caregiving informs all of her approaches. She believes that Education can be one of the most powerful tools in your parenting tool box! The desire to effect positive change on a Community level is at the core of everything. Stephanie is an appointed Commissioner to the Goleta Public Library Advisory Commission and when not teaching classes at Then Comes Baby or providing perinatal education, Stephanie enjoys going to the beach with her family or getting lost in a good book.

Claire Cetti is a much-loved local Santa Barbara positive parenting coach, who brings both a deep understanding of the many common feelings and experiences that come with being a parent of a little one, with a special skill to hold space and ask the right questions to new parents trying to get their footing and clarity as both a parent and person.
Claire is the parent of four unique, vastly different kids. She was the first of her friends to start her parenting journey, 3,000 miles away from my original family with minimal support and felt isolated and that she didn't know what she was doing. There was so much to figure out, and she questioned every parenting move she made.
Claire's own personal parenting journey of experiencing frequent conflict, overwhelm, and anger as a mama of 4 to becoming a more calm, confident mama who created the strong, close-knit, deeply connected family she has today, is what brought her to parent coaching. She enjoys supporting and guiding those in transition stages of parenting, where she can apply her Masters Level Certification in Parent Coaching through The Parent Coaching Institute (PCI) at Seattle Pacific University.
In her role as a support group facilitator, Claire will bring deep expertise in positive parenting/ positive discipline, as well the hard-earned insights that come from having lived through the challenge and overwhelm. In her role as a Positive Parenting/ Positive Discipline instructor, Claire helps parents who desire to change the parenting patterns that are not serving them, or their kids well, begin to feel calmer, more in control, and connected with their kids, thus creating a peaceful family culture they truly desire.

Taylor is a passionate and dedicated healthcare professional with a calling to community service. Raised in Goleta, Taylor obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Spanish Literature from UCSD before pivoting into a career in medicine. Upon moving back to the greater Santa Barbara area, he became an EMT for the local ambulance company, eventually earning his Paramedic license in 2016.
Then, in January 2018, the local community was rocked by the debris flows in Montecito. Like so many others, Taylor answered the call for help without hesitation by immediately joining the newly created Sheriff’s Volunteer Team. During his time assisting both in the field and at the Emergency Operations Headquarters, Taylor was impressed by the community’s response. Despite being horribly tragic, the individual acts of courage and heroism, as well as the outpouring of community support, only solidified his belief in human resiliency and his passion for community service.
In order to further this passion, Taylor enrolled in Santa Barbara City College’s School of Nursing, earning his Registered Nurse license in 2020. He was hired by Cottage Hospital shortly thereafter and began his nursing career in the ICU at the height of the Covid 19 Pandemic. This proved to be another opportunity for intense personal and professional development, as well as motivation to re-engage with the community in the out-of-hospital setting.
Taylor looks forward to sharing his experience with new mothers and fathers to be, and hopes to lead them to the (re)discovery of their own incredible human resiliency.

Prenatal & Partner Yoga

Simone is a birth and postpartum doula, a yoga instructor, a chef and a botanical dye artist. She is passionate about Reproductive Justice and has a solid, grounding presence. Her prenatal yoga class focuses on linking breath with movement and bringing strength and flexibility to the areas of the body one needs to call on for labor and for when baby arrives. Another aspect of class is connecting to instinct and to the mental determination required to move through intensity.
She weaves together her knowledge, sensitivity, patience, and decade of teaching yoga into a dynamic class that is slow, nourishing, and strengthening. As a beloved local doula, she is a wonderful resource for all things labor and postpartum.

Lactation Consultant

Lisa is a caring, calm, and extremely patient lactation consultant. She holds a master’s degree in occupational therapy (OT) from San Jose State University, received her lactation training from the University of California San Diego, and completed her lactation fieldwork at Swedish Hospital in Seattle, WA. After the birth of her first child, Lisa experienced difficulty in several areas of breastfeeding and learned first-hand that breastfeeding involves not only focusing on the breast and infant but also the whole mind and body of the parent and infant. In this A-ha! moment, Lisa knew that her 10+ years as an Occupational Therapist could bring a valuable perspective to the lactation world.
Lisa has found her true calling and loves helping families with chest/breastfeeding and the often tricky pumping and bottle feeding journey. After her second son was born with a tongue-tie, Lisa became interested in how oral motor abilities influence infant/child feeding, posture, breathing, and general development through the lifespan. This interest has led Lisa to become certified in the Tummy Time Method, which assists with tissue balance and plasticity. She continues taking educational courses in identifying oral motor abilities while preparing infants/children for frenectomies.
Lisa is humbled to provide early education for chest/breastfeeding and ongoing support and intervention. When she’s not helping other families thrive, Lisa can be found baking up a storm, testing new recipes, paddle boarding, or hiking with her dad-joke-loving husband, two energetic children, and two (oldie but goodies) fur babies.

Senior Perinatal Health Educator

Nikole is a quiet, grounded force for good in the local birth community. She comes to us 2+ decades into an impactful career: as a midwife at the Santa Barbara Birth Center who helped open their doors a decade ago, as a former doula and founder of the Central Coast Doula Association, and as a long-time birth educator.
As our Senior Perinatal Health Educator, she brings both pragmatism and a real-world groundedness to her classes, mixed with a warm approach and the ability to really listen to "the question under the question" that expectant parents ask. While her midwifery work is in an out-of-hospital environment, she is deeply knowledgeable about all birth environments in the area and is committed to helping families mentally, physically, and emotionally prepare for their birth.
Like the rest of us at TCB, she knows that all parents do the best they can with the information and the support they have. She cares deeply about helping parents make informed decisions based on their values and personal circumstances as they explore the complexities—and often the "gray" areas—of pregnancy, birth, and early postpartum.
