Senior Perinatal Health Educator
Nikole is a quiet, grounded force for good in the local birth community. She comes to us 2+ decades into an impactful career: as a midwife at the Santa Barbara Birth Center who helped open their doors a decade ago, as a former doula and founder of the Central Coast Doula Association, and as a long-time birth educator.
As our Senior Perinatal Health Educator, she brings both pragmatism and a real-world groundedness to her classes, mixed with a warm approach and the ability to really listen to "the question under the question" that expectant parents ask. While her midwifery work is in an out-of-hospital environment, she is deeply knowledgeable about all birth environments in the area and is committed to helping families mentally, physically, and emotionally prepare for their birth.
Like the rest of us at TCB, she knows that all parents do the best they can with the information and the support they have. She cares deeply about helping parents make informed decisions based on their values and personal circumstances as they explore the complexities—and often the "gray" areas—of pregnancy, birth, and early postpartum.
