Stephanie Drake, PhD has been a part of the support, education, and non-profit sectors in Santa Barbara County for more than 20 years. Her passion for positive family outcomes grew out of early teaching experiences with under-resourced children in the Bay Area and Southern California. Through her later work with a number of large non-profits in Santa Barbara County, Stephanie was able to secure millions of dollars in funding for gang violence prevention and community support services both locally and internationally.
Stephanie holds a PhD and Master's in Education from UCSB and for the last three years has dedicated herself to educating and empowering families as they navigate their way through pregnancy, postpartum, and beyond. Stephanie’s interest in Developmentally Appropriate Practice and responsive caregiving informs all of her approaches. She believes that Education can be one of the most powerful tools in your parenting tool box! The desire to effect positive change on a Community level is at the core of everything. Stephanie is an appointed Commissioner to the Goleta Public Library Advisory Commission and when not teaching classes at Then Comes Baby or providing perinatal education, Stephanie enjoys going to the beach with her family or getting lost in a good book.
